The 17th is another long par (444 yards) with a drive slightly uphill over a brow on to the fairway. Along the left the ground falls away and the fairway swings to the left round a clump of trees on the edge of this slope, with out of bounds close by. There is also a fairway bunker on the left hand corner to catch any drives attempting to take a ‘short cut’. The second shot has to carry two cross-bunkers, but the relatively open green, guarded only by two bunkers, gives every encouragement for an aggressive second or third approach shot.
