The opening hole is a medium length par 4 of 328 yards. 

The drive is from a raised tee on the edge of a drop, with bushes, trees and out of bounds to the left leading down to the dip below. The main features of the hole are the hillside coming in from the right and the bunker on the right hand side short of the green, which if caught, makes for a difficult third shot to the green above.
