Festival Week is Manchester Golf Club’s opportunity to showcase the club and course at its glorious best. Guests travel from all over the region to play in this annual cluster of events – many will be returning in 2017 having taken part in Festival Week for a number of years.

The varied schedule has an event to suit every golfer and all events are played in the spirit of the Festival. Ladies, Gents, Seniors, Juniors and Club representative trophies are all fiercely competed for.

Participants are guaranteed a very warm welcome from the members of Manchester Golf Club. You are sure to enjoy the fantastic championship golf course which will test the skill of each and every competitor and also our choice of good hearty food and complement of drinks to follow. Manchester Golf Club rarely disappoints.Buggies

Testimonials from Festival Week 2016

1. “Just wanted to say a big thank you to everybody at the golf club for the most wonderful day yesterday , from the initial greeting to the tee off to the meal, just everything was excellent .
I have just returned to this part of the world after a 33 year absence and had not played at the club since 1978 ! when I was a junior at Rochdale GC , now I have due to my association with RAFC ( I went on the board of Directors last August ) returned North and have actually joined Saddleworth , but in case I had forgotten in the intervening 38 years how wonderful a course Hopwood is , I was reminded yesterday by the thrill of playing such a lovey course again .
Also as a past Captain myself at a club in the South that is now 102 years old, I was reminded how special people in the North are! the friendliness of everybody yesterday to my 2 friends who had traveled up from Berkshire to play and myself was refreshing especially to somebody who has spent too long in the South !
So again can I say thanks to all of you associated with our day yesterday , it was wonderful.”
2. “It was good to see you today – on behalf of our Hesketh contingent, please accept our congratulations upon an excellent event today. We each enjoyed the course, catering and everything about the day and look forward to supporting the day again next year.
It was good to see more of our Lancashire Super Seniors colleagues support the event as well, with others travelling over from Southport and Formby – we even talked to one entrant from Woburn!”
The guy from Woburn said to me personally that he would be back next year.

3. “I played in the Seniors Scratch at Hopwood yesterday. I just wanted to record my thanks for the welcome I received from you in the Car Park, which was a first for any golf club I have visited. This was followed up by the friendliness and hospitality of everyone else at the club.
I am already looking forward to a return visit next year, hopefully with a better personal performance from myself!”

…… almost all of our events last year were oversubscribed so don’t forget to make your booking early for our Festival Week 2017!
