A large
number of ladies, men, juniors and their parents
joined Mr Captain, Bernard Stone and Lady Vice Captain,
Kim Barlow to celebrate the Lady Captain's Drive
In.
Although
it was a cloudy and drizzly day, our Lady Captain,
Karen stuck a superb long drive down the middle
of the fairway. Karen said I was overwhelmed
by all the support, messages, gifts and cards I
received from everyone, it was a truly magical day
We
wish our Lady Captain a very happy year in office.

The Lancashire
Ladies Veterans have a new Champion - Chris Stokes from
Clitheroe Golf Club! Chris led the qualifiers at Manchester
Golf Club on the first day of the Championship with a
fantastic 76 gross in which she played great golf and
showed that she had the pace of the greens, which was
to prove crucial in the matchplay stages of the Championship.
Chris was in
the top half of the draw and encountered some stiff opposition
from Fiona Anderson (Formby Ladies) in the quarter finals
and Ann Lowe (Royal Birkdale) in the semi-finals, before
beating her best friend and Manchester's own Sue Warrington
on the 18th in the final.
Special praise
has to be given to Sue Warrington as this is her second
successive year in the final - she was the winner in 2010.
Manchester Golf Club is very proud of this achievement
- well done Sue and congratulations to Chris!
