Members - Pace of Play

Manchester Golf Club is committed to introduce a pace of play policy that is fair effective and of benefit to all members.  In order to achieve this aim and to monitor improvements it is imperative that all members playing in Saturday competitions record their start and finish time in the space recorded on the scorecard.

Time Par

This time par has been produced to allow all players on the golf course the opportunity to enjoy the round without being hurried, but also without being delayed by slow play.

Responsibility

Each group and every player within that group has an equal responsibility to maintain the pace of play.  It is the obligation of every player to keep up with the group in front, not just ahead of the group behind.

Observing the following rules of etiquette will help you with your pace of play:

Be ready to play when it is your turn
Carefully watch shots that are hit off line
Carry a spare ball in your pocket, when in doubt play a provisional
Leave your bag / trolley in a position that will enable quick movement to the next tee.
Leave the putting green quickly when the hole is complete
Fill in your scorecard on the next tee
Be conscious of your pace of play and let through groups when appropriate
