The 2022 list of Golf Monthly Hidden Gems includes courses from Cornwall in the South to the Highlands of Scotland in the North and from the wild West Coast of Ireland to the East of England. Professionally assessed by a team of Panelists at this leading magazine and website, the courses are recommended as being worth the effort to unearth.
Golf Monthly reports that they have seen demand and green fees rise substantially in many places, most notably among UK & Ireland Top 100 Courses, but golfers searching a little further afield and can find great value. The 100 featured courses are said to offer an amazing mix of engaging designs and great golf experiences, all at a cost that won’t break the bank. The publishers believe they are more affordable than the ‘trophy’ courses that populate the upper echelons of the top 100 rankings.
Rob Smith’s full review of Hopwood is well worth a read – highlighting favourite holes and original photography – and is available on the Golf Monthly website. The concluding coments state that:
This extremely strong Colt design is an excellent alternative to the county’s historic links and is one of the best golf courses in Lancashire. It also offers terrific value for money, and fully deserves to be on the travelling golfer’s radar.
