Fantastic news from down under with Abbie’s victory in the 54-hole World Amateur Golf Ranking Event, the 2023 Concord Cup. The Royal Fremantle and Manchester Golf Club member won by 4 shots with an eleven under total of 211. Abbie shot a superb six under par score in the first round – which included a hole-in-one on the fourteenth hole – followed by sub-par rounds of 73 and 70. Abbie added a course record, alongside the one she holds at Hopwood, and had this to say at the end of championship:
“Super happy to have won the Women’s Concord Cup, finishing -11 over 3 rounds! Also having my 3rd hole in one and matching the course record on round 1”.
We very much look forward to welcoming her back to Manchester later this year – which promises to be a big year for women’s golf at the club as we host the English Women’s Strokeplay from 24-26 August.
