Our Mission Statement is:
“MGC wants to create an environment where junior golfers can be themselves and they can develop their own golfing ability at their own pace. We want to create opportunities for young people of any age, gender or background to participate in the sport of golf in a safe and friendly atmosphere”It is a vibrant Junior Section at Manchester Golf Club with an extensive competition programme of 23 competitions run throughout the season. The tee is reserved for Junior competitions from 2.00pm every Sunday. Home and away fixtures are arranged against other clubs and the Manchester Golf Club Junior Team plays each season in the Williams BMW Junior Challenge, giving Juniors a valuable opportunity to play and compete on other courses, meet other Juniors and represent their Club. Juniors are encouraged to develop their skills and to fulfil their own personal potential. As a a result Manchester Golf Club has produced numerous golfers who have gone on to compete at county and national level.
There is an extensive competition programme for the under 11s which is aligned to the Golf Passport Scheme. Associate juniors gain skills in all areas of golf which will enable them to obtain a handicap when the time is right. Mini competitions are held for Associate Juniors at 3.00pm on Sundays.
Regular golf clinics are held throughout the season for all juniors (including associate juniors). These clinics are free to all juniors and are run by our PGA professionals. All forthcoming golf clinics are advertised on the junior notice boards.
