Members and visitors to The Manchester Golf Club are welcomed by short game practice areas on either side of the driveway. Popular areas for sharpening pitching, chipping and bunker play, these two large practice areas were remodelled throughout the winter months. The work was undertaken by our Course Manager and his team, working to a brief from the Greens Committee that focused on complementing the Harry Shapland Colt design of the Hopwood Course. The gallery of pictures below provide a snapshot of the work on completion, which has significantly raised the standard of these facilities.

Our membership comprises avid golfers from all categories with an especially high concentration of Category 1 and single-figure handicap players. As such, practice is important to many and well catered for by:

• The newly modelled short game areas
• A large putting green in front of the clubhouse
• A practice hill – suitable for iron practice with your balls
• The Manchester Golf Academy comprising 350-yard driving range and short game area witm 575m2 green- scheduled for completion in 2022
