Creating opportunities for young people of all backgrounds to participate in a safe and friendly atmosphere. The Manchester Golf club provides a supportive environment where junior golfers of all abilities can be themselves and undertake their golf development at their own pace. We support Juniors from their first introduction to golf, coaching them through learning the basics and developing their skills and supporting their transition out onto the course, getting their handicap and entering their first competitions. This is done following a clear development pathway.
We are delighted that England Golf and The Golf Foundation have awarded us Junior Hub Club status in recognition of our dedication to growing the game of golf and creating an inspiring environment for young golfers.
Our Structured Junior Programme progresses through 8 Coaching Levels, covering everything from the basics to advanced skills, helping Juniors to develop on the course. As well as playing skills they learn about the rule, etiquette and more.
Golf is a great social activity for young people. Our Juniors have the opportunity to get involved with a range of events at the Club and visit other courses. And, during school holidays, we arrange meet-ups to practice, play and have fun.
Throughout the year our Juniors have the opportunity to compete in many competitions, including a season long match play event. We also take part in the BMW Junior Challenge against other clubs, host a Junior Open and play for several trophies.
Manchester is one of top ranked golf course in the Country and has hosted many top professional and amateur Championships – including the England Golf Reid Trophy for under 14s. Our Junior Members also have access to outstanding practice, coaching and support facilities including a Driving Range with Trackman technology, best-in-class short game area, large putting green, House of Golf Teaching Studio and Putting Lab and friendly Clubhouse. Young golfers have everything they need to get the most from the game.
Through the Junior Development Pathway at Manchester Golf Club, we support young people to ensure they get the most from the game and have the opportunity to get on the course and achieve a handicap. Starting with development competitions, including Chip & Putt and Short Course events, we mentor our Juniors every step of the way. Ultimately, they can secure a handicap, play our championship course and take part in competitions. With six sets of tees to choose from – each providing a different challenge – our young golfers can develop at their own pace.
Our vibrant Junior Section welcomes new members. To encourage young people to the game, we set Annual fees at a fraction of our usual membership fees and offer free places to children, grandchildren and dependents of members in selected categories.
