The Lancashire Amateur is a prestigious golf championship that has attracted strong fields from across the county since 1910. Manchester Golf Club has staged the event on three previous occasions, with our own Gareth Clark finishing runner-up last time around in 2011. We are delighted to welcome competitors in 2026, joining a roster of leading courses in the region to host the event on multiple occasions; these include Royal Birkdale, Royal Lytham & St. Annes, Formby, West Lancashire, Fairhaven and Southport & Ainsdale. Competitors will once again seek to emulate the success of past winners who include many great names from Lancashire, alongside Tommy Fleetwood who triumphed in 2008.
The Championship follows hot on the heels of the Lancashire Boys County Championships which was held at Childwall GC the previous weekend, with Thomas Prescott from the Club winning with a fantastic aggregate score of 141.
Well played and very many congratulations from all at Manchester Golf Club.

Follow the action at Manchester Golf Club and see who is making the most of our Harry Shapland Colt course and aiming to join the Roll of Honour.

132 golfers, including over eighty with a plus WHI, are competing at Hopwood. We are delighted to have 14 players representing the Club this year.

The Clubhouse is open as usual during the Championship. The well positioned decking area is the perfect place to follow the action when the sun is shining.

G.F.Smith triumphed in 1910, Tommy Fleetwood in 2008 and W.Sandoz last year; joining an impressive list of past winners of the Championship
