In the second round on Sunday, on the challenging blue course, Zain Wild edged John Carroll by a single shot, finishing eleven under par. His 69 in blustery conditions in the afternoon was capped off with a chip-in birdie on the last hole, while John’s birdie putt on the last finished a roll shot. Luke Kelly from Ashton-under-Lyne on five under and Thomas Watson from Hillside on three under were the closest competitors in the strong field.
Ben Crompton from Manchester Golf Club had a strong last day, shooting 73 and 72 to finish in 13th place. Graeme Jackson played great golf over the four rounds but a slow start on the last round resulted in a very respectable 30th place finish.
